Subtle presence
Firstly I want to acknowledge the impeccable service and delivery standard that one can expect, from Libertine Parfumerie. This purchase was my first, and certainly not my last, if only to experience the pleasure gained in receiving a perfume package from here.
This fragrance was exactly as expected. I had studied the notes that are what I prefer in my fragrances, Oud in particular, combined with other woods, spices and fresh warmth. "Aoud Vanille" matched all of these.
It is a warm, subtle presence that is not to over-powering like many Oud base fragrances can be.
The Vanilla complements enough, so to not dominate, settling in a mild smoky dry down with a slight twang of Saffron.. The only thing I would mention negatively and why the 4 star rating, is its staying power is low, you have to really give it a good dose to fully smell its worth and promote longevity. It would definitely need a top-up at some point when wearing it. This is also my first fragrance from Mancera, so I'm not too versed on the general disposition of their fragrances, but overall I would say this fragrance is decent.
