Gorgeous vessel and brilliant performance with a heavenly tropical scent from both the hot & cold throw. Cannot wait to scent my home with this all Summer!

I haven't lit this candle yet and to be truthful I bought it for the beautiful container (to reuse after burning). However, this brand is consistently good so I have high hopes. The fragrance unlit smells very soft and delicate. My purchase from Libertine was delivered super fast and I really appreciated the many free samples and care and consideration that was taken with my order.

The smell is pretty subtle and soothing.

I usually dislike the scent or taste of aniseed, but the sample of the Natural History Museum candle I received for an online masterclass changed my mind. This particular mix of herbs and woods is quite complex, and not something I’ve come across before. Whilst the Absinthe candle has a moderate projection, I don’t become anosmic to it, nor annoyed as I do with some candles. I would describe it as vegetal, woody and marine. I have two on the deck dining table and guests always ask where to get them.

I previously reviewed the Absinthe candles, which have a delicious fresh scent, like a garden by the sea. They are so long lasting, and whilst the scent has a decent throw, it’s not overwhelming. Great for day or evening, and perfect for spring and summer entertaining. As they are made from 100% organic rapeseed, recycled glass and paper, with vegetable ink, I also feel pretty virtuous 😇 so I’ve bought the refills. Thank goodness companies, even vintage ones like Carriere Freres are considering the environment.

Divine scent and long lasting. Even better at a sale price!

This candle has a nice scent that is pleasant without being overpowering. Reasonable throw, although in a larger space it may get a bit 'lost'. This candle does not come with a lid and extinguishing leads to quite a bit of smoke, I cover for a while to help settle this without causing unwanted odours.

I don’t usually like smoked wood smell but in this candle it’s beautiful and comforting one 🥰

The smell is a little bit weird for me, too dark and too heavy. Rose is not fresh rose, more like the rose that would fall or the dehydrated rose.

I received a complimentary wax melt of this in my first order from Libertine and it was heavenly. I never would have ordered this normally as I’m not a fan of pine, and candied ginger would usually make it smell like a Christmas candle. This is now my favourite candle fragrance. Fills the room without overpowering with a sophisticated aroma that everyone asks about. It is equally liked by men and women. It smells expensive (you know how Lavender can be polarising - good lavender is amazing in fragrance- cheap is awful. The pine is like that in this candle- amazingly good). I would use it year round too. Not just for the cold months. Get yourself a wax melt to see if you love it as much I do if you’re not sure- it will surprise you.
