Gorgeous throw, delightful scent
I adore Encens Suave, and find this candle to have close affinity to the perfume. It has good protection in my living spaces large and small. I note even when not lit, I can smell this candle faintly if it is nearby. If you are not familiar with the perfume, it's probably one of the softer unisex scents I have encountered, not soft as in weak, but it has a fantastic lack of what many might consider traditional elements found in strongly 'gender polarised' scent profiles where 'men/women' descriptors are frequently relied upon. So nothing floral, musky, or aquatic. There are of course fantastic incense elements, frankincense here is balanced with labdanum, a touch of vanilla among the resinous notes to balance things. It's not overly smoky or sweet, but smooth and pleasing. The candle has most of the perfume in spirit, but is its own thing.
I also really like the considered vessel holding the candle, heavy and elegant. I try to repurpose glass vessels such as this, and it's nice to see something a bit more substantial than most. Matiere Premiere carries the presentation of their fragrance here in a faceted design, so if you like that kind of detail it is nicely considered here. As the vessel has corners, I suggest on first burn ensuring that all the wax fully melts (this can take time) to prevent tunnelling.
