Okay, we know what you’re thinking. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. Apocalyptic visions, Armageddon. Doomsday cults, mass suicides. The Mayan Calendar. We endured the panic of the Millennium. We’ve seen the films, from “Dr Strangelove” to "Melancholia". We know the New Testament prophecies we’ve heard about the End Times and the Rapture.
But one question remains: how will it smell?
Well, forget about all that. We’ve got the real story, as revealed by Blaise Cendrars novelist and poet Swiss by birth, French by choice. One-armed pro-to-abstract expressionist and revolutionary modernist pioneer. The man even created a pen name designed to suggest words that mean embers and ashes.
In 1919 Blaise Cendrars wrote The End of the World Filmed by the Angel of Notre Dame, and we here at ETAT LIBRE D ’ORANGE believe it needs a companion scent.
