Nestled in the Swiss Alpine pastures, at the heart of a small, tranquil village, stands the magnificent wooden structure of the Grand Chalet. It was here, surrounded by ancient lime trees, that painter Balthus made his home, captivated by the fragrance of milk, honey, and hints of citrus drifting through the air. Today, like a cherished memory, his favourite scent once again fills this space.

Contains mimosa, myrtle, bergamot, linden flower, heliotrope, sandalwood, and musk. Perfume designed in collaboration with Setsuko Klossowska de Rola and Françoise Caron.

wax formulation
The wax blend is plant-based with a touch of beeswax, completely free from paraffin or petrochemical derivatives, ensuring a clean, soot-free burn. Its exceptionally supple and tender texture guarantees purity, allowing the wax to blend perfectly with the perfume and diffuse its scent both hot and cold. The pure cotton wick ensures a clean, even burn for 60 to 70 hours.

Precautionary Measures
Before use: remove the wax refill from its cardboard cup before burning. Simply turn the cup upside down, tap the bottom, and place the wax in an Astier de Villatte glass or ceramic holder.

Safety: never burn the refill directly in the cardboard cup. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Wick maintenance: keep the wick trimmed to 5–6 mm throughout the burn. Ensure it remains centred at all times.

Burning instructions: extinguish any candle that smokes excessively (check instructions before relighting). Do not burn on a flammable or fragile surface. Avoid burning for more than three consecutive hours.
