New Year, New-Look Libertine
A refresh and a stunning new Sydney home for 2024
Notice anything different about us? This week Libertine Parfumerie officially launches its brand-new wordmark, saying goodbye to the classic logotype that’s been so familiar over the last 15 years.
The new look — a playful refresh made of soft, contemporary characters — replaces the outgoing logo, itself ever-present since the store’s inception in 2008. Punctuated by an eye-catching ‘f’, the italicised letter offers a whimsical nod to the artistic essence and orchestral grandeur of Libertine’s famously prestigious brands. We love it, we hope you do too!
Celebrating our new home
And, in case you missed it, Libertine now has a new Sydney home! This week’s visual revamp follows the recent launch of Libertine’s new flagship Sydney store.
Opening our doors to the press (Broadsheet, Urban List) and then the public late last year, launch week saw an exclusive press launch party complete with DJs, delicious canapes and bespoke cocktail offerings, while the weekend’s festivities treated perfume lovers to a host of luxury giveaways, from fragrance samples and specialty coffees, to freshly-cut roses courtesy of Grandiflora.
Inspiration
Located at The Intersection in the leafy Eastern Suburb of Paddington, the luxury boutique’s new Oxford Street home is one of a growing number of beauty-centric spots in the area.
Local interior designer Tamsin Johnson, guided by the vision of Libertine CEO Nick Smart, delivers a feast for the senses, blending swathes of both new and vintage flourishes, and balancing classic European influences with a relaxed antipodean aesthetic. The result: a truly stunning space where shoppers can feel transported, yet right at home.
A multispatial masterpiece
The impeccable custom detailing — a romance of European oak, chocolate-tinged cabinets, brushed metal railings, white marble plinths, a glass-backed dispensary door and two spectacular Italian-sourced glass chandeliers — brings to life a space the likes of which has never been seen before in Australian beauty retail.
Linked by an open-sky courtyard, traversed via large garden doors with baroque timber embellishments, the front and rear sections of the boutique are backdropped by an old-world wall-painting technique recreating the appearance of marble-clad walls, with Versailles-inspired parquetry flooring underfoot adding to the charming European ambience.
Further still and you'll find the VIP suite, a cosy, yet refined space dedicated to intimate eventing and masterclasses.
If you’re in Sydney, come say hello — we can't wait to welcome you to our new home.
