You could say Kilian Hennessy was destined to make something intoxicating. When you grow up surrounded by oak barrels and fine cognac vapours, it’s only a matter of time before you try to bottle your own kind of high. Except, instead of pouring it into a tumbler (although he does serve his perfume in exquisite glassware too), he decided to atomise it — and in 2007, Kilian Paris came to life.

Born into the Hennessy dynasty, Kilian took the inherited taste for indulgence and swapped the cork for a spray nozzle. For him, it's not just about making perfume; he extends it into the realms of touch and sight too, transforming scent from the feel of the bottle to the gleam of the glass. The mission? To “put perfumery back on its pedestal.”

This is perfume as storytelling, and Kilian’s cast of characters is nothing short of iconic. Love, Don’t Be Shy flirts with innocence and indulgence in equal measure; Good Girl Gone Bad lives up to its name, all petals and provocation; whileAngels’ Share swirls with the warmth of cognac and candlelight.

Kilian’s newest twist on the Angels' Share family captures the essence of cognac on ice — a self-confessed sacrilege in the wake of his father’s and grandfather’s preferred method of consumption: neat. But then again, Kilian has never been one to play by the rules of polite society, or indeed, polite perfumery.

Housed in a frosted glass tumbler, this is less a fragrance bottle and more a luxury bar experience. Inside, an icy gourmand concoction unfolds. Bitter orange slices through the richness, spiking Kilian’s already ultra-refreshing On the Rocks accord.
